The search for intergalactic friendship begins.

Before all the fancy elements like diamonds or aluminum or silly putty, everything was just a flurry of stardust.

The spacedust all had to swirl around for a bit and cool off in order to relax and get to know each other. Then they could stick together to make elements, like Hydrogen and Helium and dinos and music.

IN THIS LESSON

  • Draw a 3-note constellation:

Start by drawing a bunch of random stars on a lined piece of paper.

Then choose a cluster of 3 and circle them.

Draw 5 horizontal lines, over the lines on the paper, that capture your constellation. These lines represent a music staff.

Label the lines, from the bottom to the top, E, G, B, D, F.

Label the spaces in between the lines, from bottom to top, F, A, C, E.

    • Bonus: turn one of your stars into a black hole… this shifts your note to the nearest black key you choose, either a “sharp” or “flat” in Earthical Musical notation.

These 3 notes will be used in the next chapter…

  • Make sure the 3 stars all fall on different notes on the music staff… experiment with the constellation you choose.

  • Paper, pencil.
